Educational / professional career
Bartel Van de Walle is an assistant professor of Information Systems at Tilburg University (the Netherlands) and a visiting research professor at the New Jersey Institute of Technology department of Information Systems. He started his career in 1996 as a research scientist at the Belgian nuclear research center SCK-CEN, where he was involved in developing intelligent group decision support systems for nuclear emergency response. He has held a faculty position at the New Jersey Institute of Technology Information Systems department from 2000 to 2003. Since mid 2003, he is a member of the faculty of the Information Systems and Management department at Tilburg University. He has published about 50 conference and journal papers on theory and applications of preference modeling and multi-criteria negotiation and decision support.
