ISCRAM2008: CALL FOR PAPERS

The call for papers for ISCRAM2008 is out! Due to an excellent response to our call for special sessions we can now offer 28 special sessions! Often several international scholars and practitioners have teamed up to organize a session together. In addition to regular research sessions, several CFPs are focusing on contributions from practitioners (marked with an asterisk in table below). For the first time ISCRAM2008 will also offer a poster session.

Alternatively you can access them from the www.iscramlive.org web site by selecting "ISCRAM2008 Special Sessions" in the ISCRAM2008 menu on the left. All CFPs contain complete instructions and important dates. Research sessions accept full papers and research in progress papers while practitioner sessions accept Powerpoint presentations and short practitioner papers.The final submission date for full papers is January 6, 2008. Please note that the format for the papers and further announcements are also posted on www.iscramlive.org.

If you wish to submit a paper that clearly fits with the general ISCRAM2008 conference theme, but does not fit in one of the special sessions, please submit it to one of the open ISCRAM sessions.

The 5th annual ISCRAM conference brings together crisis management and information technology experts from academia and practice. The conference provides an important networking opportunity where the latest research on the design, development, use and evaluation of information systems for crisis response and management are presented and discussed. The conference will take place at the George Washington University and is hosted by the Institute for Crisis, Disaster, and Risk Management. The general theme of ISCRAM2008 is ììCreating Advanced Systems for Inter-organizational Information Sharing and Collaborationî.

Important Dates:
 

  • January 6, 2008: Paper submission deadline (extended)
  • February 10, 2008: Notification of (conditional) acceptance
  • March 1, 2008: Final camera-ready paper submission deadline
  • March 21, 2008: Early registration deadline

The 5th ISCRAM conference will be held from May 4th to 7th, 2008 at the George Washington University (GWU) in Washington, D.C., USA and the conference will be hosted by GWUís Institute for Crisis, Disaster, and Risk Management (ICDRM).
